Job Title: North Texas Advocacy Program Support Specialist


Job Status:
Temporary, full-time, non-exempt, grant-funded through September 2023


Job Summary:
The primary function of the Advocacy Program Support Specialist is to provide support for this grant project by assisting with programmatic data collection, organizing items donated for survivors, assembling crisis response bags, preparing intake folders, accompanying advocates during transportation of clients as needed, and organizing volunteer support for OOG advocacy. Provide support for the OOG advocacy project, expanding advocate and advocacy director capacity to ensure excellence in services and enable services for a greater number of survivors.

Compensation: $43,000 annual salary, pro-rated for time worked

u6Availability:
Generally 40 hours per week, 8:30-5:30 Monday-Friday with a one-hour lunch; and some evening/weekend hours as needed.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with programmatic data collection
  • Organize items donated for survivors
  • Assemble crisis response bags
  • Prepare intake folders
  • Accompany advocates during transportation of clients as needed
  • Organize volunteer support for OOG advocacy
  • Support Director of Advocacy in implementation of programmatic action plans and strategic objectives directly related to the OOG advocacy grant project
  • Overall admin support related to OOG advocacy grant project
  • Attend key meetings and record notes, distribute notes in a timely manner.
  • Support administration for CSEY Advisory Council
  • Assist advocacy team with IT support and special projects.
  • Assist Director of Advocacy in creation of new material and tools to support advocates funded by the OOG advocacy grant project
  • Support grant reporting and partner updates.
  • Support director of advocacy in building and strengthening culture
  • Prepare draft announcements for distribution to advocates funded by the OOG advocacy grant
  • Maintain and update Advocacy Resource Lists
  • Research and identify appropriate staff training for professional development
  • Purchase items for OOG advocacy grant projects directed by Director of Advocacy
  • Track budget vs. actuals for OOG advocacy budget.
  • Assist with communications (internal and external), including scheduling.
  • Complete audits of OOG advocacy grant project client charts and grant documentation to ensure compliance with internal and external policies.
