After School Program Teacher - 2022/2023

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Site Coordinator, After School Program Teachers will assist with the supervision and activities of the program participants.

SUPERVISION: Responsible for directing Teacher’s Assistant

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.

• 
  Teachers within the After School Program shall assist with childcare in a designated student-to-teacher ratio in the program.
• Responsible for complying with policies as outlined in the Parent and Staff Handbooks.
• Ensure student safety and follow appropriate emergency protocols.
• Assist other teachers, assistants, and aides as necessary.
• Maintain a specific weekly work schedule to accommodate the program’s effectiveness.
• Implement enriching after-school activities for children at the appropriate age level.
• Assist children with school homework as requested.
• Keep the Site Coordinator and Program Director informed of any specific behavioral problems or program issues.
• Any other duties as required by the Program Director for the position.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• 
  EEC Qualifications equal to Group Leader
• Minimum three years experience working with children
• must be covid vaccinated

The qualifications listed above are preferential to the duties and responsibilities as listed in the job description, but may be waived at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools.

WORK SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

• This position is paid hourly (non-exempt) the program is open from school dismissal - 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. We are open 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. during school vacation weeks and professional development days as well as have a summer program. Work 1 or 2 days or all 5. Final schedule shall be determined by the director of Childcare Services.
