JE Brown has an immediate need for an Agency Support-Customer Service to work from our Walnut Creek office. This individual’s primary responsibilities are to assist incoming callers and respond to chats. This can be a remote from home opportunity. However, San Francisco Bay Area candidates preferred.

J.E. Brown, a subsidiary of Brown & Brown Insurance, is a managing general agency for retail insurance agents placing property and casualty insurance for businesses and individuals. The firm specializes in offering small business and personal lines property and casualty insurance products to customers in the western United States, primarily in California.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Handle a high volume of incoming phone calls and chat inquiries while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Assist customers in servicing accounts; respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Navigate a variety of online carrier platforms; assist and train customers in same.
  • Learn a wide variety of insurance programs; ability to find relevant information to answer customer inquiries accurately and quickly.
  • Run wildfire and brush mapping reports.
  • Process non coverage related policy endorsements.
  • Distribute general email inquiries to appropriate staff members.
  • Direct phone inquiries to appropriate staff members as needed.
  • Pursue a program of personal and professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  • Insurance experience is a plus, but we will train you
  • Some college preferred, not required
  • Punctuality, dependability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent telephone techniques
  • High attention to detail, with little to no errors
  • Excellent time management
  • Proactive, can-do attitude
