SUMMARY: The Shipping Team Member ensures that product leaving the facility is shipped according to the load request and in accordance with Daily’s and customers’ expectations. The Team Member is also responsible to receive in raw materials according to each raw material print. The Team Member assists the Supervisor and Lead by maintaining a clean, safe and organized facility by following the company’s policies, and procedures.- Palletize and organize loads for shipment using correct stacking order. Ensure accuracy of each pallet and entire load.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are critical. Prepare and complete all necessary paperwork including bills of lading and invoices.
- Be able to learn and understand proper and common procedures for loading trucks. Ensure trucks are loaded in correct order for LTL transit, first stop loaded last, etc.
- Must be able to demonstrate advanced skills with forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
- Inventory skills essential. Will assist in weekly, monthly, and year-end inventories.
- Strong math skills necessary for various tasks.
- Ability to read, write and speak English is vital to allow communication with drivers, customers and shipping companies.
- Must be able and willing to work swing shifts, varying hours and overtime due to operational requirements.
- Must demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to perform in a stressful environment.
- Keep warehouse area clean and well organized.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually at a level where OSHA requires hearing protection.
