The Assistant Director for Leadership Giving will coordinate and manage fundraising strategies to increase cash contributions to the university and increase donor participation through the leadership annual giving program (Leadership Circle) and other annual giving programs. In collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving, the person in this position will plan and execute solicitations; plan and coordinate Leadership Circle membership renewal solicitations through direct mail, e-appeals, and personal visits, serving as liaison with internal and external constituents; track and report fundraising activities and progress; and assist with projects, such as donor cultivation and recognition events, and annual giving funding initiatives for colleges and units.

Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

Leadership Annual Giving Program: Manage a portfolio of 150-200 active individual donors. Develop strategy for giving program, identify prospects, plan solicitations including direct mail and other communications, schedule visits, and complete in-person solicitations for gifts of $1,000 – 24,999. Focus on acquisition, retention and upgrades for Leadership Circle donors. Communicate with planned giving and major giving colleagues regarding prospects. Develop stewardship plan for donors.

Reunion Giving Program: Develop strategy for reunion giving campaign, and plan and manage reunion solicitations, which may include phone, mail, e-mail, and other methods; facilitate and attend reunion committee meetings. Coordinate with other development and alumni staff as needed to involve volunteers and produce a highly effective reunion giving program.

Track and report fundraising activities: manage tracking and reporting activities for Leadership Circle, including duties such as planning and writing solicitations, evaluating programs, reporting results, distributing information to development officers, and stewarding gifts. Assist with projects, such as donor cultivation and recognition events.

Annual giving ad hoc projects: contribute to ad hoc annual giving campaigns, including those for specific college or unit funding initiatives, as needed. Work with individual donors and groups of donors to establish funds. Serve on internal or external committees as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Salary:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Degree must be conferred at the time of application. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with the university’s vehicle use policy.


The following experience is required:

  • 1 year of fundraising, sales or related experience.

Salary
Full-time, Administrative staff position available. Administrative Grade Level 357. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Full benefit package available.
