The QC Virology group in RTP, NC has an opportunity for an Associate I within the release testing team. QC Virology supports Quality Control testing of GMP samples using biological analytical methods, as well as reagent qualification testing, validation/transfer of analytical methods, and technical support of QC investigations. Must have the ability to model the leadership competencies and work effectively independently, within a team framework, and across all business areas and levels of the organization.

What You’ll Do

• Release testing on drug substance material.
• Lab testing support activities, media preparation, inventory management, equipment maintenance.
• Timely review/corrections for data and documentation.
• Supports activities associated with method transfer, method/reagent qualification, analytical improvement projects, and validation of analytical methods in collaboration with senior team members as appropriate.
• Supports maintenance of effective laboratory systems to ensure integrity of all laboratory results.

Required Skills

• Minimally BA/BS in Life Sciences with 6 months – 1 year of relevant experience required (academia or industry experience).
• Candidates should have experience with cell culture techniques, biological testing (cell-based and/or PCR), and GMP experience, preferably in a commercial manufacturing environment.
• Excellent laboratory technique and experimental design.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in LIMS based laboratory result reporting is a plus.
• Relevant experience in reagent qualification, method validation and transfer are a plus.
