About the Role:

The Center of Excellence (CoE), Americas is multi-disciplinary regional extension of Group (HQ) Commercial team, built to support Market-driven needs within the realm of Group-led strategies. The team increases global capability, informs strategic decisions leveraging local insights, cascades Global best practices and executes bespoke and localized Market campaigns and experiences. The CoE includes Insights, Creative, Digital, Delivery, Retail Experience, and Strategic Planning which is the function responsible for the creative and social strategy, development of briefs and partnership with the Markets in developing marketing strategies and creative execution within the region. The Americas is comprised of 3 markets – US, Canada and Mexico – with South American expansion on the horizon.

The goal of the Center of Excellence is to provide in-region support to our markets, acting as connectors to our global teams in the UK, and drive excellence across all our marketing and retail communications assets.

The Associate Project Manager, Retail & Events is responsible for managing Project Management and Design for In-Store Retail & In-person (and sometimes digital). Events covering all the Americas business spanning across 3rd party retail, POS, collateral, and events.

You will manage and deliver a wide range of indirect retail fixture & event(s) projects from brief to implementation. Coverage could be across a single country or multiple in the Americas region. You will be responsible for understanding Global/Regional/Market strategies while delivering against market needs. You will strive to deliver the best-in-class experiences, at the best price in a fully compliant manner.

In this role you will collaborate with several stakeholders in the business (retail marketing, and category teams) including creative & design and production & rollout teams to ensure successful project management and execution across the project lifespan. You will work closely with other project managers and the Sr. Programme manager with project resourcing and escalating risk for project success.

Responsibilities include:

Project Management

  • Own, manage and drive a mix of internal and external projects through completion. Projects will focus on the America’s indirect retail estate, product launches, concessions, Mall Demo Zones, events (physical/virtual/consumer/trade facing/retailer/launch), field sales demo, consumables and more. Projects will vary depending on the prevailing market initiatives and product launches.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including; Retail Marketing, Sales, Category, Concept Designers, Development, Studio, the Global Retail Experience Team, the other Centres of Excellence, Procurement, Legal & Compliance and CSER.

  • Owner of project specific schedules, meeting recaps, and team documentation, with input from creative & production teams. Facilitate outstanding project management best practices to ensure project milestones are scoped, communicated, documented and achieved.

  • Partner with Associate Production & Rollout Managers to detail a clear scope of work pre-production, and assist throughout production, including:

  • Project management of pre- and post-production – understanding and building these timelines into full project scope.

  • Upload all final assets to asset management system in partnership with production and creative teams.

  • Initiate and follow internal stakeholder approvals of concept process. Manage trafficking and sign off all 2D art before release into production.

  • Manages projects through Dyson’s DAM (Digital Asset Management System), including routing of creative file for approval/ feedback; while ensuring project timelines are met & updated as required.

  • Relish the opportunities to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role.

Event Project & Production Management

  • Lead owner of Dyson 3rd Party events for retailers, including but not limited to:

    • Customer facing trade shows and

    • Associate facing conferences for speciality retailers.

    • Sell out kit creation for sales and field teams

    • Other non-3rd party retail projects like – Dyson office space design and other environmental design, display or communication asset creation projects.

  • Collaborates with Public Relations & media team and supports them with project managing 3D (product fixtures & displays) and 2D marketing (banners, posters, window decals and other event related marketing)

Quality Control

  • Attend key installations and prototype reviews if required.

  • Support the maintenance of inventory/database system for all indirect retail footprints.

  • Work closely & collaboratively with creative & production rollout teams to ensure they have a full picture of the projects upon briefing, and manage the progress of the creative development for 3D & 2D asset creation, throughout creative review process, prototype production and final production and rollout/ installation at retail

  • Ensure detailed specifications are supplied to external suppliers for all projects.

  • Ensure vendor and agency output matches Dyson’s quality and services expectation.

Process Improvement

  • Able to adapt to changing milestones and project ambiguity.

  • Be a supporter of process improvement and an agent to support change management.

  • Proactively anticipates roadblock and seeks to remove them or escalate to team with forward thinking solutions to challenges.

Brand Reputation

  • Act as a gatekeeper of Dyson’s story, heritage, ethos and brand on all content platforms and ensure we are always producing best-in-class, locally relevant content within the strict Dyson reputation parameters.

  • Assist project manager and sr. programme manager to develop process improvements to enhance project management. Including but not limited to:

    • Tracking and reporting on projects through dashboards and rollup.

    • Team Capacity dashboards for Design, Project Management and Production Resources.

    • System rollouts and enhancements (ways to more efficiently project manage and track project status).

About You

Knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Organized and action-oriented, able to develop project plans and project manage from kick-off to delivery

  • Ability to develop scope of work and manage deliverables/asset lists

  • Flexible enough to manage projects in an environment that can be ambiguous and/or rapidly growing and changing

  • Able to scope large pieces of work, leading the process of breaking down amorphous problems into deliverable solutions

  • Thinks 5-steps ahead – figures out the implications of today’s actions to plan for tomorrow

  • Relationship management - comfortable making connections with the cross-functional teams – insights, category, strategy, creative, Group, other CoEs

  • Roll up your sleeves mentality – willing to challenge yourself to navigate through challenges and solve problems in one minute, and get down into the weeds the next

  • Demonstrated experience of design, production and project management processes.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Marketing, Advertising, or related field

  • 3 years of advertising, marketing or creative agency or speciality retailer project management experience

  • Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Not required but preferred:

  • Working with multiple countries/languages a plus / Bilingual (English + Spanish) a plus, but not required

  • Experience working with big box, department and/or speciality and beauty retailers

  • Demonstrated experience reviewing technical drawing packs (developed by Retail Designers and/or Dyson’s suppliers).
