Job Description:
3M is seeking an Automated Controls Technician at our Brookings, SD location.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment including, but not limited to: AC/DC drives and motors, programmable logic controllers, process controllers, stepper & servo motors and controllers, fire protection equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic devices, and plant support equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, sketches, vendor drawings and manuals in the performance of this job
- Work with engineering and production personnel during the troubleshooting, modification, fabrication and repair of plant equipment, utilities, and processes
- Provide technical recommendations regarding improvement and optimization of plant equipment, utilities, and processes.
Required:
- Possess a two-year associates degree in Mechatronics Technology, Automation Controls/SCADA or Robotics (completed and verified prior to start) OR Possess a High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) and 2 years of experience in Electro-Mechanics, Mechatronics Technology, Automation Controls/SCADA or Robotics in a private, public, government, or military environment.
Desired:
- 5 (five) years of experience in Electro-Mechanics, Mechatronics Technology, Automation Controls/SCADA or Robotics in a private, public, government, or military environment
- PLC programming experience
- Industrial motor drive controls troubleshooting experience
- Experience working with electrical equipment
- Industrial maintenance experience
- Experience troubleshooting and problem solving in a manufacturing environment
