Cimarron is seeking an Avionics Hardware Engineer to join the Weapons Engineering Team for a large aerospace and defense program in Saint Charles, MO. The selected candidate for this position will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing avionics equipment for weapons, including the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM), Small Diameter Bomb (SDB), Standoff Land Attack Missile – Expanded Response (SLAM ER), and Harpoon.

This opportunity offers a competitive salary and the opportunity for additional cash-in-lieu of benefits. This position is expected to last 6 months to 1 year.

This opportunity is a hybrid role and will allow for some remote work (i.e. work from home a few days a week).

Key Duties:

• Develop, integrate, and test of weapons system avionics such as mission computers, tail actuation systems, sensors, antennas, and carriage/launch electronic systems.
• Work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements in accordance with customer needs and contract requirements.
• Analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, interface specifications, and technical performance specifications.
• Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
• Resolve product integration issues and production anomalies.
• Support fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
• Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
• Make recommendations for technology investments.
• Support Electro-optic/Infrared system performance and qualification testing.
• Generate, develop, and perform requirements verification testing of general weapons RF subsystems and antennas.
• Be responsible for electrical drawing requirements and design, supplier management, system segment description documents, software testing/test procedures, factory acceptance testing, and technical manual support.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• 1 or more years of experience in avionics systems development, integration, and testing.
• 1 or more years of experience working on development programs.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Active or Interim Secret clearance.
• 3 or more years of related work experience.
