Job description
The AVP, Alternative Investments Product, will focus on product management responsibilities across our real estate and real assets platform specifically within onshore and offshore funds distributed through the wealth channel (non-traded REITs, LPs, interval funds and tender offer funds). In addition, the role will support established products from a governance and business performance perspective, as well as support product development initiatives. The AVP will achieve results through leadership and cross-functional collaboration with investment management, sales, legal, marketing, operations, and finance personnel.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Manages real estate and real assets alternative investment products on the basis of profitability, investment performance, governance, operating model, vendor management, and strategic direction of the firm.
- Focuses on stewarding product development from product concept/design/manufacturing through product launch and drives overall product management, overseeing project plans and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Closely partners with distribution teams through training, education and research and may serve as subject matter expert on assigned product matters with clients.
- Leads structuring changes and closely manages project timelines, working closely with portfolio management, legal, accounting, distribution and client servicing teams.
- Manages internal governance/approval process for new products as well as product changes.
- Ensures products are compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Supports broader alternatives product team through various business management tasks.
- Gain industry knowledge and build relationships with cross-functional business partners (e.g., Marketing, Operations, Distribution, Legal, Compliance) to accomplish goals.
- Prepare materials to drive stakeholder engagement, report results, and support decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of direct experience managing alternative investment products and strategies distributed through retail channels including non-traded REITs, interval funds or tender offer funds as well as private structures
- Licensed as Series 7 and 63 (Preferred)
- University (Degree) Preferred
- Experience working within real estate and/or real assets
- Product structuring experience with investment management, either from sell-side/buy-side firm or a reputed law firm, preferred. Offshore structuring experience preferred.
- CFA or CAIA designation, preferred
- Strong attention to detail with ability to organize and prioritize to meet project timelines
- Self-starter with acute critical thinking skills and desire to drive innovation and new processes
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with ability to influence others
- Strong skills in Microsoft Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word,
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
