Overview

The Banquet Server is responsible for service of all banquets and banquet related food and beverage operations. They must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing of food and beverages.

The Banquet Server will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond Standards. They will always conduct themselves in manner which supports the guiding principles of Destination Hotels & Resorts: Trust, Open & Honest Communication, and Commitment. The Banquet Server shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They will be responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Performs all guest contact activities such as serving food and beverage, responding to guest’s inquiries in cordial, efficient and professional manner
  • Ensures food and beverage is served while maintaining a consistent presentation and proper temperature
  • Delivers food and beverage items to guests
  • Offers product knowledge of food and beverage to guests
  • Provides general resort information for guests
  • Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner
  • Up sells other resort services and amenities to guests
  • Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
  • Communicates all pertinent information to the banquets team
  • Maintains constant awareness of safety issues. Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.
  • Follows Banquet Event Orders with strong attention to detail
  • Attends department meetings
  • Resolves guest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness
  • Ensures proper handling, cleaning and sanitation of equipment, china, glass and silver.
  • Follows through on lost and found procedures. Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff when food ordering expressing any special needs.
  • Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurant menus and hours of operation.
  • Reports to work on time and according to posted schedule, maintains accurate time records and follows proper standards for issuance of rooms
  • Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Sunriver Resort dress code standards.
  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times.
  • Performs other related duties as requested by Banquet Captains/Banquet Managers.

Qualifications

  • Six months customer service experience preferred
  • High School Education required
  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must possess valid OLCC card
  • Must possess valid Food Handler’s card
  • Must be able to work well under pressure
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
  • Must be highly detail orientated
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must have excellent listening skills
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be professional in appearance and demeanor, follows Sunriver Resort dress code standards
  • Must always ensure a teamwork environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must be knowledgeable and familiar with food and beverage industry.
  • Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, sun, heat);
  • Must be able to work indoors or outside;
  • Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day,
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.;
  • Must be able to bend, squat, push, pull frequently;
  • Must be able to climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis;
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, squeezing, overhead reaching occasionally
