A Battery Solution Architect carries significant know-how and hands-on experience in numerical simulations for batteries. They must be very familiar with the latest trends in battery thermal management, cell aging, performance, thermal runaway, especially for the automotive industry. Ideally, the candidate has a background in R&D and in-depth knowledge of the typical pain points of numerical simulations for batteries.

Description:
A Battery Solution Architect carries significant know-how and hands-on experience in numerical simulations for batteries. They must be very familiar with the latest trends in battery thermal management, cell aging, performance, thermal runaway, especially for the automotive industry. Ideally, the candidate has a background in R&D and in-depth knowledge of the typical pain points of numerical simulations for batteries.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the design and development of dedicated software solutions for battery simulations with a special connection to CFD applications
- Elaborate comprehensive strategy to address relevant simulation pain points currently faced by battery system integrators
- Engaged in product development by providing state-of-the-art understanding of numerical methods in the field of electrochemical simulations
- Develop cross-functional battery solutions encompassing structural, manufacturing, safety aspects, also leveraging the latest approaches based on AI and ROMs
- Ensure success of the newly delivered capabilities on the market
- Be a battery technologist inside and outside the organization.
Qualifications:
- Education background at PhD level in Chemistry, Material Science or Engineering with focus on batteries
- 3+ years of experience in simulations of batteries using state-of-the-art commercial codes: working knowledge of Abaqus, Star-CCM or Fluent
- Proficiency in Matlab or GT-Suite (Autolion)
- 2+ years of experience in hands-on design and testing of batteries (preferred)
- Well versed in scripting Python (C++ nice to have)
- Preferred knowledge of Structural software (e.g. Abaqus, Marc, Optistruct)
- Proficiency in Matlab or GT-Suite (Autolion)
