BE/BC Nuclear Medicine physician sought to join the Kettering Network Radiologists,

Inc., serving 8 teaching hospitals in Southwestern Ohio within the Kettering Health
Network (KHN), as well as other remote hospitals in Ohio and Indiana.

Nuclear Medicine is a distinct group within the medical imaging department.

  • Candidates with additional clinical certifications and/or backgrounds are preferred.
  • The candidate must have completed an ACGME approved nuclear medicine residency and be board eligible or certified by the ABNM.
  • The candidate should be ACLS certified and credentialed to supervise and interpret stress tests.
  • Must be comfortable in consulting, evaluating, treating, and clinically following patients with complex diseases with all the clinically available radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Ohio and Indiana Medical Licenses (or eligible)

KNRI performs over 19,000 studies per year. The Nuclear Medicine division has a wide array of studies including:

  • 7,000 PET and PET/CT scans (including FDG, F-18 NaF, rubidium stress,

Axumin, Ga-68 PSMA, Cu-64 DOTATATE, and F-18 FES.

  • All general clinical and cardiac nuclear medicine procedures, and bone densitometry.
  • This is a high-volume section covering multiple hospitals, so clinical proficiency in general Nuclear Medicine is required.
  • Kettering Hospital Network is recognized as a Radiopharmaceutical Therapy of Excellence by the SNMMI and as such is involved with treating patients with hyperthyroidism and thyroid cancer, bone pain palliation (Xofigo, Quadramet),NET (Lutathera) and prostate cancer (Pluvicto-PSMA).

In addition to patient care, the Nuclear Medicine group has been actively engaged in clinical research, most recently with 1) in house C-11 methionine and brain tumors and 2) industry supported research with amyloid and tau tracers in neurodegenerative disorders, FES in breast cancer, and tilmanocept in rheumatoid arthritis, and soon PSMA in glioblastomas. Since this is a community hospital, research and academic production are not a priority, but are highly encouraged by the network and radiology group.

State of the art equipment across the network includes 3 PET/CT (including 2 new frontline digital) cameras, 3 SPECT/CT, multiple gamma cameras and DXA scanners, rubidium generator, and a cyclotron (which is used to produce our own FDG, C-11 Methionine, and Ga-68 PSMA).

In addition to patient care, responsibilities include medical student and house staff teaching and participation in hospital committees and cancer conferences. The successful candidate will be able to interact with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists. Moreover, the candidate must be willing to additionally support and work with colleagues and hospital administration to help develop the future of Molecular Imaging and Theranostics in the community setting.

Faculty appointment at Wright State University and Ohio University is available.
