Job Summary:
The Billing Clerk plays a key role in ensuring our vendors are paid timely and accurately.
Essential Functions:
- Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries.
- Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling, and preparing
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Prepares and issues invoices to freight customers
- Reviews and verifies shipping info using source documents such as bills of lading, invoices, and delivery
- Build relationships with customers and work with them to maintain current accounts
- Assists other departments as necessary
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education
- Experience
o Previous experience in transportation industry a plus
o Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV a plus
- Specific skills
o Excellent computer skills
o Previous experience working with document management software preferred
o Working knowledge of basic bookkeeping
o Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability
