We are expanding, come grow with us! V-Tech Solutions, Inc. is looking for punctual, responsible Part-Time Bus Attendants to support our organization. Candidates would support the D.C. Public School System. The candidate would be responsible for assisting the driver in maintaining order and seeing to the needs of student passengers. This is routine work of ordinary difficulty involving responsibility for overseeing the loading and unloading of student passengers and for administering to their needs, comfort and conduct while in transit on regularly scheduled bus trips to and from school. Supervision is exercised over the conduct of student passengers as required.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety of all students on the bus
• Assist the driver with morning inspection of the buses
• Provide support and instruction to the students to ensure their understanding and compliance with bus safety
• Assist the driver in maintaining cleanliness of the bus
• Work with the driver to ensure that each student is picked up and dropped off at their designated location in a timely manner
• Escort and physically assist students from their designation pickup/drop-off address to and from school or curbside to and from the bus
• Assist the driver with reverse operation of the bus by exiting the bus and providing hand signals and other appropriate forms of guidance
• Monitor students and maintain order on the bus and may recommend approved applicable behavior management suggestions
• Move about the bus to attend to students needs
• Communicate with driver, parents/guardians and school personnel about students as needed
• Assist the driver with submission of necessary reports
• Ensure compliance with OSSE DIST Policies and Procedures and the National Standards for School Buses and School Bus Operations
• Operate special equipment used by children with disabilities
• Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid as needed
• Participate in pre-service training and engages in ongoing training sessions as directed
• Act as a point of contact for officials regarding accidents and incidents and written reports
• Work practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order)

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Excellent customer service skills
• Valid CPR and First Aid Certifications
• Successful completion of necessary background and drug tests, pre-employment
• Ability to work a rotating shift, to include mornings, evenings, nights, etc.
• CDL a plus
• Verification of TB test

This is a part-time position. You must be able to get to and from the bus lot located in Washington D.C.

This position is contingent upon contract award.
