Panum is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join an existing contract with our USDA Rural Development client. As a Business Analyst you will prepare invoice documents and reconciliations, analyze financial documents, report any inconsistencies, complete audits of contract usage and funding, collaborate with different departments on projects and process improvements, analyze and communicate report data, and assist with other duties as assigned. Prepare to assist client with functions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, funding estimations, and reconciliations. You will be responsible for maintaining communication with CORs to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices. Complete requested reporting, funding tracking, future projections, and monthly updates. Recommend possible processes that would increase the efficiency of man hours or error reductions in operations. You will be required to assist with audits by providing appropriate documentation and information while. All analysts will expect to perform other related duties as requested from the client

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide an impeccable level of client support while analyzing financial information for account resolution
  • Navigate various financial systems, such as FMMI, Sagent, or Oracle Studio, to generate reports
  • Ability to analyze data to find trends and ascertain accuracy based on reports
  • Perform investigative reporting to determine outcomes of accounting questions or inconsistencies
  • Ability to learn processes through desk instructions and virtual training
  • Maintain awareness of tasks and timelines for contracts and reports monthly, such as: Simple and complex invoice preparation and FMMI processing for PLCE contracts, Tracking 30-day payment timeline, and Inspection Reports
  • Troubleshoot invoicing errors and recommend mitigating solutions for future invoices
  • Keep track of funds usage and forecast future funds usage across a contract
  • Respond to escalated problems while maintaining daily work expectations
  • Compile and gather information to put into preformatted documents designed to provide accurate client-based data
  • Maintain a positive and supportive relationship with the client to provide services efficiently and with professionalism and respect
  • Audit and Analysis of Financial Information, Departmental Procedures, and Financial System Reporting
  • The Audit and Creation of Financial Reports, Account Histories, Account Resolution Recommendation, and Analysis Tools/Templates
  • Reconciliation of Bank Accounts, Accounting System Balances, and Loan Balances
  • Preparation of Working Papers, Schedules, and Reports for Internal and External purposes
  • Review of Loan Service Invoices, Financial Documents, Payments and Disbursements
  • Communication and Reporting of Findings and Variances to the appropriate level of Management
  • Collaboration with client and/or team members to create procedures, accomplish projects and to create tools and templates
  • Be able to communicate with the client and peers to answer questions and receive assistance, participate in team projects, and assist with workflow to optimize team output

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree or higher
  • A minimum of years or similar accounting experience
  • Detail Oriented – Requires careful focus and accuracy
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills – Able to gather and analyze and interpret information
  • Proactive – Able to influence others and contribute to team success
  • Analytical Thinker – Can synthesize complex or diverse information
  • Excellent Communicator – Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office Proficiency (emphasis on Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint – PowerBI a plus)
  • Independent and Team Contributor - Able to work independently and function effectively as part of larger multi-dimensional team
  • Strong Quality Management Skills – Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
