Job description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Business Analyst will perform business analysis and provide leadership to support new internal and client-facing strategic initiatives including process, product, and corporate projects. Projects may include purchased technology, workflow solutions developed in-house on a BPMS, and strategic non-technical initiatives. This position reports to the Business Analysis and Innovation Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design or recommend innovative solutions to meet business objectives.
- Lead cross-functional teams of employees and vendors to achieve objectives for sourced solutions, BPMS solutions, and non-technical business initiatives.
- Analyze and document business processes, and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze ideas submitted through the bank’s employee ideation program.
- Write business, functional, and non-functional specifications for applications to be developed on a Business Process Management System (BPMS).
- Test BPMS applications.
- Complete special projects and assignments as requested by senior management.
Required Skills
- Ability to analyze business problems, ideas, and processes with minimal direction.
- Ability to see the strategic big picture while also paying attention to details.
- Project leadership, including stakeholder management with a high level of sophistication.
- Knowledge and experience with business analysis techniques and processes, including experience in process analysis using BPMN.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including executive presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with individuals of varying backgrounds, levels, and technical expertise.
- The ability to influence without formal authority.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- User Interface (UI) design with a focus on usability and the user experience.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
- User training.
- Analytical thinking.
- Change management.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years as a business analyst in a corporate environment
- Experience with the software delivery lifecycle with focus on business analysis and requirements management.
- Experience in a retail bank would be a plus!
