Job Description:
Job Summary
Subject matter expert responsible for managing high visibility aspects of the Business Continuity Program including development, implementation, communication, training, and maintenance of recovery strategies and plans. Identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to complex problems that improve SWA resiliency. This role works collaboratively across multiple functional teams and external service providers, at times guiding the work of others and advising Leaders with minimal Leader supervision.
Responsibilities
Lead development of Business Continuity Plans and Plan maintenance
Lead in-depth enterprise business impact analysis to identify critical business processes, determine acceptable recovery time frames and establish resources required for successful resumption of operations
Facilitate risk assessments to identify points of vulnerability and advise Executive Leaders on their contingency strategies and plans
Design and facilitate testing/exercise/training of Business Continuity strategies
Create consistent Business Continuity standards and procedures
Advise Executive Leaders on recommended continuity improvement opportunities to enhance Company resiliency
Manage multiple complex initiatives with cross-functional teams and external consultants/service providers, overseeing all aspects of the project management life-cycle
Drive alignment with Business recovery requirements and Technology recovery capabilities, lead the development of manual business procedures to improve Company resiliency
Partner with Supply Chain Management on third-party risks and fuel disruptions, focusing on developing and documenting proactive plans to handle supplier disruptions
Develop and optimize technical tools and applications that support contingency plan management, automated notification, reporting, and events
Guide and train Team Members on Business Continuity initiatives
Manage day-to-day needs of our Companys dedicated back-up facility, ensuring that it is ready to activate at a moment's notice
May perform other job duties as directed by Employees Leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced knowledge of Business Continuity principles, business impact analysis techniques, contingency plan writing, Risk Management, Emergency Response, and Information Technology Disaster Recovery disciplines
Strong knowledge of how to use Business Continuity Planning, emergency notification, data analytical or reporting tools
Skilled in identifying and solving complex problems with strong attention to details
Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word at a proficient level, have the ability to create original content
Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously, guiding resources and priorities, and driving successful outcomes with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
Ability to respond to crisis situations with a clear sense of urgency while exhibiting calm and confident behaviors
Ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and in presentation form to an audience of all levels up to Executive Leaders
Ability to facilitate and direct large group meetings/training and able to speak confidently in front of large groups of people consisting of all levels up to Executive Leaders
Ability to advise Executive Leaders on continuity strategies/plans and influence decision making
Ability to apply sound judgment to positively handle tough and complex situations
Ability to work well with Business Continuity Team Members, cross-functional Teams, and external service providers, promoting positive and collaborative working relationships
Ability to quickly learn new or modified business processes and apply business acumen along with advanced knowledge of Business Continuity principles to recommend recovery strategies and plans
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
Business continuity planning principles
Analyzing complex business processes
Facilitation in front of a large audience of all levels up to Executive Leaders
Creating presentation content for audiences of all levels up to Executive Leaders
Guiding the work of Business Continuity Team Members, cross-functional resources, and external service providers
Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must meet confidentiality expectations pertaining to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
Must be able to work extended hours as needed
Must be able to be on-call as needed outside of normal business hours
Must be able to travel with overnight stays required
