Aerotech, Inc is currently hiring a Business Development Manager - Advanced Manufacturing to work in our global headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA.

Position Summary
The Business Development Manager - Advanced Manufacturing (BDM-AM) is responsible for growing Aerotech’s revenue and managing strategic initiatives in Aerotech’s Advanced Manufacturing market verticals - Electronics, Medical, Laser Systems, Precision Manufacturing Systems, and Data Storage - while also meeting the company’s profit objectives. The BDM-AM will accomplish these goals by conceiving, detailing and driving the execution of long-term strategic plans while concurrently identifying and executing on new business and strategic revenue opportunities.

Essential Functions

• Accountable for worldwide growth and demand generation (opportunity funnel) in the Advanced Manufacturing market segments (see summary)
• Has a high degree of outward market focus and is the market expert (understanding business conditions, trends, processes, technologies, etc.) in the assigned market segments
• Identifies new business opportunities (markets, acquisitions, joint ventures, etc.) in existing and new market segments
• Develops and leads the execution of the marketing and sales plans for growth in assigned market segments
• Partners with the sales team and applications engineering to ensure strategic opportunities are converted to active accounts
• Frequently travels (domestic and international) to visit customers/prospects and tradeshows to gather market intelligence and help close strategic sales opportunities
• Works closely with product management to ensure product roadmaps are aligned with market strategies
• Collaborates with product management and the marketing department to develop marketing collateral for respective market segments in order to drive demand generation
• Trains sales, marketing, and applications engineering on market-specific information related to capturing new business

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a technical discipline or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in business from an accredited college or university, required
• Technical degree (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics), preferred
• Minimum of five years in a technical field with business and/or commercial experience, required
• Required technical, business, or market experience in one or more of the Advanced Manufacturing market verticals (see summary)
• Motion control and automation industry experience strongly preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
