Business Relationship Associate

Plug and Play Real Estate Division is the base of our community and facilitates the infrastructure for innovative startups and corporations to thrive in a flexible and energetic office and co-working space. Our job is to maintain a power-house of like-minded entrepreneurs, where they can start and grow successful technology startups that may fit and join the community and potentially our investment portfolio.


The Business Relationship Associate for Real Estate, creates, maintains and expands the relationships between Plug and Play and high-tech startups, corporations and other stakeholders of the ecosystem. This role provides the unique opportunity to collaborate with top executives and entrepreneurs in the largest Innovation Platform of the world.


Duties and Responsibilities


New Business Development:

  • Understand the startup ecosystem and real estate environment to be able to identify target companies that can join the Plug & Play community
  • Manage and track a growth pipeline with startups & corporations to ensure maximum occupancy and price

Contract negotiations/closing:

  • Build relationship with entrepreneurs and decision makers to secure sales pipe
  • Explain, negotiate and prepare lease contracts
  • Complete all paperwork and maintain digital records
  • Ensure smooth traffic of startups in the property
  • Produce, organize and maintain internal and external sales and marketing materials like presentation decks, case studies, competitive intelligence and contact lists.

Client Retention:

  • Provide account maintenance to upsell and accommodate customer expansion
  • Work with operational staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Collaborate with other internal colleagues to facilitate introductions to ventures team or accelerator programs as needed
  • Participate in internal and external client debriefs

Relationship Management and Community Engagement:

  • Conduct a monthly Community Meeting to promote networking and customer engagement.
  • Nominate & award Hottest Company of the Month in collaboration with the ventures team

Requirements:

  • Preferred sales background. Experience in hospitality industry is a plus or retail experience.
  • An expansive network of clients where you have sold office solutions in the past
  • Proven track record of effectively negotiating contracts and developing business relationships that impact company performance
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task with excellent organization skills – Pays attention to both details and macro-level outcomes
  • Comfortable with Excel, Google Docs, Salesforce CRM (preferred) and other technology solutions for driving sales
  • Strong internal and external communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfort with a fast-paced environment and changing requirements Start-up experience a plus
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Can-do attitude, strategic thinker, and passion for new products and solutions
