Summary

Work across the enterprise on complex, strategic business initiatives and efforts. Partners with business units to review gaps in processes, procedures, and solutions. Identifies current-state problem statements, gathers requirements, analyzes future-state solution suggestions and reviews, and perform enterprise analysis. Contributes to the overall coordination of day-to-day activities within the Business Analyst Team. Leads team in the effective use of industry best practices and methods.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides business process, workflow, and requirement design and streamlining expertise.
  • Partners with Senior System Business Analyst(s) and Technical Operations Manager in creating new processes, documentation standards, and templates.
  • Train and provide guidance and coaching to junior members of the team.
  • Acts as an escalation point for the Business Analyst team.
  • Partner with business units, project management, vendors, and developers to determine scope, build requirements, and detailed designs to meet business needs.
  • Identifies and defines complex enterprise issues. Develops and defines requirements, functional specifications and solution design specifications.
  • Participates in Credit Union strategic or operational planning sessions such as Guiding Coalitions, Committees, and business unit feedback sessions.
  • Assists in performing peer reviews.
  • Assigns tickets in Business Analyst queue based on priority, collaborates with team on determining bandwidth and level of effort.
  • Plan and develop user acceptance test plans for proposed improvements.
  • Work on large complex efforts across multiple domains.
  • Participates in education opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Develop deep understanding of Credit Union applications and integrations.
  • Facilitate the design, build, test, implement and maintain integrations between the packaged applications and other internal and external applications.
  • Identifies necessary modifications to existing applications needed to meet changing user requirements.
  • Plans custom software development work in accordance with, and the establishment of, development and application lifecycles for enterprise applications.
  • Seeks ways to streamline current work methodologies and continuously improve the Credit Union.

Education/Experience

Bachelors degree in technology (or related field), or commensurate amount of work experience and acquired knowledge. Minimum eight years of experience in business analysis or similar role.

Requirements Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities

  • Experience with the following systems/applications preferred:
    • Core banking system interfaces (Fiserv XP2 preferred)
    • Document imaging system (back-end basics, including archiving, retrieval and networking)
    • Windows server operating system and Active Directory management tools
    • Workflow technologies
  • Knowledge of products and services offered by financial institutions. Ability to grasp the long-term organizational impact of system and process changes.
  • Knowledge of SQL and other Microsoft Technology stacks.
  • Proven ability to identify and address operational and technological risks.
  • Demonstrated expertise in aligning complex systems and processes in support of business units and strategic goals.
  • Ability to work autonomously in the day to day development of work methods and approaches.
  • Experience with data processing, and data center functions, such as job schedulers and report generators.
  • Experience designing and building workflows, and effectively documenting workflows.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing functionality and services.
  • Scripting experience (such as VBScript, JavaScript, shell scripting) preferred.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sizeable workload and large amounts of detail.
  • Ability to take initiative on projects, and effectively complete work with little supervision.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.
