Under general supervision, the Senior Specialist, Procurement solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices. Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes. May provide guidance to less experienced team members.

Responsibilities include:

• Procurement of goods, services, and supplies for capital projects.
• Take responsibility for purchases in support of customer-related business processes
• Understand and follow purchase order procedures and practices.
• Lead capital project procurement efforts for multiple clients
• Exhibit proficiency in various procurement systems
• Coordinate and distribute electronic bid packages, correspondence and commitment documents to project team, supplier, site personnel
• Routinely perform statistical input (metrics)
• Expedite equipment shipments
• Coordinate and document Project Procurement strategy for equipment

• Negotiate favorable terms, discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies.
• Discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers; responsible for negotiating refunds.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, warehouse, and engineering to ensure proper scheduling and movement of equipment and materials.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to provide support to several clients daily. Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree. SAP knowledge is a plus.
