CAREGIVER/MED TECH

Active Healthcare Staffing is looking for skilled and highly motivated caregiver/Med Tech to join the talented staff at AdviniaCare and its Paddockridge facility in Ocala, FL.

Make up to $29 an hour!

$1,500 Sign on Bonus

Full-time 7pm-7am, 3pm-11pm PT/FT, 7am-3pm PT Enhanced Sign on Bonus for Full Time only.

JOB DESCRIPTION

A team-oriented individual with a positive attitude that will assist the residents who have difficulties completing basic tasks throughout the day and night. Their responsibilities include medication management, grooming, incontinence care, food preparation, feeding, bathing, laundry, light housekeeping. Furthermore, by following safety policies and procedures they will help in maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment for the residents. They should always encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth, and sincere concern for each of our residents, making a positive impact in their lives and their families.

RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Help our residents with bathing, grooming, hand and foot nail care, skin care, toileting/incontinence, oral hygiene.
  • Assist in use of adaptive equipment (hearing aids, glasses, and dentures).
  • Supervise, assist residents to dress/undress.
  • Provide assistance as needed with preparing meals, serving meals, and assisting residents with eating.
  • Assisting with ambulating, positioning, transferring and mobility.
  • Help some of our residents to and from our Structured Day Program.
  • Assist the therapists with group activities.
  • Implement and follow patient care plan, contacts supervisor with any clarifications
  • Keeping proper care records.
  • Reads and documents in all communication logs and informs the nurse when needed.
  • Gives report to the Nurse or designated charge person at the end of the shift.
  • Reports any changes to the Nurse or designated charge person immediately for determination of contacting the on-call Nurse.
  • Accurately dispenses, passes medications & documents in the MAR, absent of errors.
  • Accurately assists residents with self-administration of medications.
  • Accurately counts narcotics in accordance with company policy.
  • Follows all policies and procedures and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety guidelines.
  • Assure the cleanliness and dignity of each resident.
  • Serving as a companion to residents.
  • Transporting clients to and from appointments, errands, activities, etc.
  • Performing light housekeeping duties (e.g., keeping room clean, laundry).
  • Encouraging socialization and participation in community activities.
  • Communicating with families, co-workers, and supervisors regarding care.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all company procedures, results, and information about, staff, residents, or families.
  • Participates in continuing education classes and any required staff and training meetings.
  • Maintains professional affiliations and any required certifications.
  • Effectively completes incident reports per company policy.
  • Handles potentially infectious specimens with appropriate biohazard precautions, and practices Universal Precautions.

SKILLS

  • Ability to read, write, speak & understand the English language.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and act in the resident’s best interest.
  • Ability to react and remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Interpersonal skills, including exceptional patience and listening skills.
  • Empathy and the ability to care for the client’s social, emotional, physical, and mental needs.
  • An understanding of what to do in an emergency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred-CNA/Active License.
  • BLS/CPR Certificate.
  • TB.
  • MMR.
  • Previous experience working with seniors and desire to serve and care for seniors.
  • Experience with Alzheimer’s or dementia care.
  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous Med Passer experience required.
  • The ability to provide care across a variety of settings, including group homes and day service programs.
