Responsibilities:
Syntelligent is seeking a
Cartographic Analyst/Geospatial Engineer with an active TS/SCI for an awarded and funded contract supporting a government customer in the St. Louis, MO area.
Tasks and duties include:
- The Cartographic Analyst/Geospatial Engineer will work within a government/contractor team environment providing Digital Chart Production and support to existing and developing mission areas.
- Utilize an understanding of geography, cartographic finishing principles and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to review national and international co-producers, academia, military, and civil partner produced 1:50,000 scale and 1:100,000 scale topographic maps.
- Apply product finishing techniques to produce final products for 1:50,000 and 1:100,000 scale topographic maps.
- Attribute, exploit, extract, format, manipulate, position, and symbolize geospatial information to build map/chart finished products to perform quality assurance reviews and map/chart product finishing.
- Edit, merge, and or conflate geospatial content.
- Correctly attribute extracted feature data based on the NSG Application Schema (NAS)
- Analyze/evaluate Foundation data for quality in terms of coverage, accuracy, currency, completeness, and the applicability to the requirements.
- Recompilation or updating maritime features and attributes in ESRI based FG MOD production environment.
- Extracting features from a variety of sources including but not limited to rasterized nautical charts, digital hydrographic survey data and ortho-rectified imagery; applying/writing Python Scripts in ARCGIS to improve efficiency of the production process; Data Conversion/migration.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- BS + 0 years relevant experience
- If no degree, 3+ years of relevant experience
- Active TS/SCI clearance required, with willingness to obtain a polygraph upon request.
- Experience in geography, cartography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) which includes skill in ArcGIS applications.
- Experience in creating shapefiles, geo-databases, and features.
- Knowledge of digital cartography, image processing, geographical information systems (GIS), geospatial production techniques and NGA digital data formats.
- Ability to utilize geographic names information from the GNDB.
- Ability to analyze imagery and non-imagery source information for application to NGA hydrographic products and databases.
- Generate corrections for electronic and paper nautical charts and publication.
Clearance Level Required: Active TS/SCI security clearance and willingness to obtain a CI polygraph
