Job Summary

Under the direction and leadership of the Family Support Services Manager, the Case Management Supervisor is responsible for the recruitment, enrollment, and attendance follow-up of enrolled children at their assigned center. This position is responsible for the coordination and management of comprehensive services to families, including family outcomes and supports, and the coordination of family engagement activities in support of school readiness.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining full enrollment of assigned center.
  • Oversight and management of center’s waitlist, assuring complete applications are on file for future enrollment opportunities.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with interdisciplinary team of teaching staff, Family Advocates, parents, and other content area specialists to plan and implement comprehensive services for children and families.
  • Coordinate overall efforts associated with recruitment, enrollment, and attendance follow-up.
  • Communicate the importance of regular attendance to meet regulations.
  • Facilitate and lead the case management team meeting process, ensuring that meetings are held as scheduled and that the required team members are present. Ensure accuracy of information shared during the meetings, and that identified tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Complete Family Support Services monthly reports.
  • Participate in parent engagement activities.
  • Oversee Family Support Service voucher management system, including parent fees and timely voucher renewal to avoid interruption of services.
  • Responsible for maintaining updated case management files.
  • Coordinate parent engagement activities in support of school readiness at the center.
  • Direct supervision of Family Advocates, including the monitoring and submission of time sheets.
  • Responsible for the completion and submission of staff performance appraisals, inclusive of professional development goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in "MyHeadStart" computer data base.
  • Contribute to professional and friendly environment for children and families.
  • Review Family Partnership Agreement
  • Review Family Outcomes Assessment Scale
  • Other duties as assigned based on program needs.

Skills and Qualifications

Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (Masters preferred) in Human Services or a related field; 3 to 5 years of Social Services experience and 3 years of management.

  • Ability to work with people from various cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evening and weekends.
  • CPR and First Aid certificate or ability to obtain CPR/ FA within 120 days of hire.
  • Documented proof of current physical exam, negative TB test, and proof of MMR immunity. (Hepatitis B immunity is advisable.)
  • Must have a suitable CORI, SORI & DCF background check and Finger Print check on file prior to employment.

Supervisory Responsibility: Family Advocates and Center Administrative Assistants.

Travel: Is required for trainings, meetings and to visit other sites.

Physical Demands: This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines.
