Job description

We are looking for an experienced truck driver to pick up material for job sites and work with heavy equipment such as skid steers, excavators, dingo's in a safe and timely manner. Must have heavy equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Assist in unloading cargo, maintaining product quality throughout conveyance

• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy

• Adhere to traffic safety regulations at all times, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities

• Must comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times.

• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations

Skills

• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc)
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
• Valid CDL Class A

Must arrive at the shop in Newfield NJ on time daily by 6am M-Th
(sometimes Friday and/or Saturday if there is inclement weather on M-Th)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
