Crystal Springs Brewing Company is a company in Louisville, CO 80027. We started in a garage with a 2/3s bbl brewhouse that produced 40 bbls our first year. We are now 13 years old with a 15 bbl brewhouse and the capability of producing up to 5000 bbls per year and we have an incredible taproom on Main Street in Louisville, Colorado. We got where we are because we never quit, we work hard, we care about people, and we make good beer. Working for us will be challenging, creative, supportive, and collaborative. Crystal Springs Brewing Company is hiring a Cellar Person / Assistant Brewer, primarily assisting with canning, kegging, bottling. With assistance in brewing and all other operations as needed. Cellar Person / Assistant Brewer

The Cellar Person provides oversight of brewing operations to ensure standards are met and quality of beers is maintained. Responsibilities include scheduling the tank cleaning, equipment cleaning, and other brewery operations; working with the brewing, cellar, distribution/sales teams to meet brew, cellar, and package by set deadlines. Training new employees on standard operating procedures, cleaning, routine maintenance and other duties.

● Work with management to schedule canning and kegging operations to maximize operational efficiency
● Staging orders/pallets for distribution
● Ensure compliance to all policies and procedures
● Maintain QA/QC standards
● Keep accurate records
● Monitor employee performance and provide feedback

  • Follow SOPs and establish new SOPs as necessary

● Maintain excellent inventory records
● Keep overall packaging facility clean and organized
● Work with management and Inventory to make sure we always have adequate packaging materials available
● Ensure we always have enough clean shells available for packaging needs
● Operate Keg Washer
● Train for and participate in our sensory program
● Assist with brew scheduling and beer availability
● Remain in constant communication with the Head Brewer and Managers

As we are a small brewery, we would like this individual to also assist with brewing, subject to availability. To wit:

Responsibilities:
● Assist the Head Brewer
● Assist with brewhouse operation including wort production, cleaning, milling grain, and weekly brewhouse CIP as necessary o Operate, clean and maintain grain processing equipment o Operate CIP (Clean In Place) systems for all brewing and cellaring equipment, including the use of potentially dangerous chemicals
● Clean and sanitize all beer contact surfaces and equipment Place and return to storage hoses, parts, pumps, buckets, and all equipment
● Maintain proper awareness and adherence of SOPs
● Carbonate finished beer and prepare beer for packaging
● Regularly and safely work around high voltage, flame and hot water
● Ensure proper record keeping of all brewing and cleaning activities Be mindful of potential quality concerns
● Maintain compliance with all brewery safety protocols
● Record and log all relevant brew information
● Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the work environment
● Consistently reinforce quality across all brewing processes and products
● Self-motivated to create world class beer

● Required Skills and Abilities:

o Have a valid driver's license and clean record o Ability to lift 55lbs frequently and move up to 170lbs with a dolly

o Ability to stand, walk, crouch, and lift regularly throughout the duration of shift

o Positive outlook and attitude.

  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills

o Attention to detail

o Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality standards o Ability to work in a team environment

o Ability to manage multiple processes at one time.

o Self motivated with good time management skills. Excellent communication skills and willingness to communicate with other staff

o Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Internet.

o Brewing experience and education is welcomed, but not necessarily required. A will to learn, to listen, to adapt, and to be open minded and creative are more important. In addition to the preceding list of clearly-defined responsibilities, there are a plethora of unpredictable tasks that arise on a day-to-day basis.

o We expect all our brewery employees to be willing to take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed, pursuing them with the same passion, care and attention as she/he does every other task.

o Flexibility is critical.
