Position: Certified Nursing Assistant
Location: Pine Island, MI
Shift: 6: 00 a.M. - 2: 30 p.M.
Duration: 13 Weeks
Start: ASAP
Job Details
Assist residents with activities of daily living including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, transfers and mobility
Follow all shift routines, policy and procedures regarding accurate performance of vital signs, and weight measurements when appropriate
Transport residents to and from nursing units for meals and activities
Deliver meals and assist residents with eating. Record accurate food and fluid intakes. Reports chewing or swallowing difficulties to the licensed nurse.
Distributes personal supplies to each resident.
Assists in maintaining an organized, clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
Reports resident’ s status to a licensed nurse at the end of shift and when any change of condition is noted during the shift.
Reports any change in resident skin condition to the licensed nurse.
Ensure residents are clean, neatly dressed and well groomed.
Answers call lights promptly and determines resident needs.
Immediately reports suspected resident abuse or neglect per facility policy.
Follows standard precautions and works within OSHA guidelines.
Serve on, participate in and attend various committees and meetings of the facility to enhance interdisciplinary process as directed.
Accurate documentation as delegated per facility policy.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Completed or enrolled in a state approved nursing assistant course
Experience in the long term care setting preferred
Must be able to read, write, spell, understand and speak English
NA/R Certification for Minnesota license is required
Maintain current on Minnesota Registry by obtaining at least 12 hours of continuing education per year
Able to perform basic math equations
Effective communicator with staff, families and outside agencies
