Must have a high school diploma or GED at minimum. ACDS, degree in Child Development, or 1 year relevant work experience is preferred.

Schedule:

Possible shifts include:

Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm OR

Monday-Friday, 10:30am - 5:30pm

No evenings or weekends

General Requirements:

• Submit verification of education such as high school diploma and/or college transcripts.
• Submit to a state and federal criminal background check with fingerprinting prior to employment (updated every 5 years).
• Submit authorization for WV DHHR Child Protective Services Record Check prior to employment.
• Have a health assessment including vision and hearing screening completed by a physician within 30 days of employment (updated every 2 years).
• Complete a TB Risk Assessment or obtain a negative result from a chest X-ray or TB test using the Mantoux method.
• Maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Register on the West Virginia STARS Career Pathway and attend eighteen (18) hours of STARS approved training annually with six (6) of those hours related to the age group of children assigned.
• Attend Child Abuse and Neglect training as required by WV Child Care Licensing Regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise children at all times.
• Actively participate in activities with children both indoors and outdoors.
• Communicate daily with parents/guardians regarding their child’s care and activities.
• Attend to the routine care of each child including diapering, toilet training, changing soiled clothing, hand washing, feeding, napping, wiping noses, brushing teeth, cleaning hands and faces after meals, etc.
• Use age-appropriate guidance and positive behavior support techniques as outlined in the policies of Christ Church Preschool-The Growing Place.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and carry children or other items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Move and react quickly by use of arms, legs, hands, and feet
• Climb up and down stairs
• Repetitive bending, stretching, stooping
• Work with children on the floor
• Work outdoors in a variety of weather

Pay: From $10.00 per hour
