Apple Tree Daycare is looking for the right candidate to fill a childcare provider position in an intimate setting. Hours would be 8:00am - 3:00pm, with the possibility of more hours. This is truly a labor of love, and we need someone who has a true passion for working with children and putting children’s needs before their own in their workday. As with all times throughout our day, our busiest time is in the morning hours when children need our patience, attention, guidance, redirection and learning opportunities along with understanding, care and compassion the most. All personal distractions including cell phones, apple watches, laptops etc. would need to be reserved for lunchtime or after hours. We strive to maintain a positive environment rich with learning opportunities and fun for all ages and abilities.

The right candidate would have the ability to understand the age appropriateness of behaviors and abilities and respond accordingly, as we have a mixed age group. They should have the desire to interact with children at their level and assist, guide and participate in free play, structured play, clean-up and outside play with redirection whenever necessary as to avoid undesirable behaviors. This candidate must be willing and able to tolerate an often times noisy, high-energy environment and have the ability to handle a whole group with assistance or groups of 6 children independently at any given time.

In order to maintain provider to children ratios outlined by NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) Regulations, this candidate MUST BE EXTREMELY RELIABLE.

During the application process, this candidate must be willing to submit to a background check and fingerprinting by the NYS OCFS and be willing to take 30 hours of training in every 2-year period under specific topics as outlined by NYS OCFS, with an initial 5-hour online training. Acquiring Infant/child 1st aid and CPR is also a requirement. All trainings will be setup for you by the owner/director.

IMPORTANT NOTE- Please understand that all childcare spaces are FULL so those interested with children would have to find other means for childcare.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Because of the proximity and length of time spent in direct contact with children, a physical including a PPD is required by NYS, a medical statement will be provided. In addition, this candidate must be fully vaccinated including the Covid-19 vaccine.
