Job Summary Keeps premises of offices, commercial, or institutional buildings of Tribal properties in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties. Commitment to Service Service encompasses all aspects of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indian’s governmental operations. Every employee shares the responsibility to provide exemplary service, dignity, and respect to all Tribal Citizens, the Tribal Council, and staff members. To this end, all employees have an obligation to identify and report any service problems, issues, or concerns and through designated channels, initiate, recommend, and actively participate in solutions. Principal Duties Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim. Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other work areas including refrigerators and coffee service stations. Sweeps, vacuum, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors as necessary. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and window coverings. Dusts furniture and equipment weekly. Washes walls, ceiling, woodwork, door panels, sills, and windows at regular intervals. Empty wastebaskets, transports trash, and waste to disposal area. Replenishes bathroom supplies. Replaces light bulbs. Assist with inventories of chemicals and supplies when necessary. Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Requirements High School diploma or GED. Physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to run scrubber, buffer, and vacuums and other industrial cleaning equipment. Familiarity with Bloodborne Pathogens, Worker’s Right to Know, and other OSHA safety requirements. Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and a safe work record. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to meet minimum insurance requirements regarding driving record in order to utilize GSA vehicles. Must submit to and pass alcohol/drug screening and criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and experience working with Native Communities. Computer literacy preferred. Indian Preference Pokagon Band Indian preference policies apply. Reports to The Facilities Housekeeper reports directly to the Lead Facilities Housekeeper.
