Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a talented and dynamic part-time Completion Specialist to join our team of higher education professionals who are committed to student success. This is a grant funded position for 20 hrs./week for ten (10) months (November 30 through June 30, 2023). Additional funding may extend this position to June 30, 2023.

The ECE Completion Specialist is a part time position providing support to students majoring in Early Childhood Education. This is a case management model where the ECE Completion Specialist will act as an academic coach who completes weekly check ins with students, connect them to College resources, assist in navigating college systems and work with college instructors to support student success. The ECE Completion Specialist would also consult with key stakeholders.

The successful candidate must be an engaging, effective, innovative, dynamic partner who is strategic and fosters collaboration. This individual will be able to demonstrate the use of best practice strategies associated with all aspect of case management and the academic coaching model. This individual will demonstrate a spirit of an independent problem-solver and a strong understanding of the College’s mission and goals. The Completion Specialist will demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism when dealing with student records and information. The Completion Specialist will also have a demonstrated ability to encourage, model, embrace, and incorporate diverse thought and perspective of all individuals of various backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives to foster an all-inclusive environment and drive results.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ experience either
in an early learning environment or experience working with non-traditional age college
students: experience with case management responsibilities in an education setting is preferred. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Education, Social Work, or related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; Master’s degree preferred.

Background Clearances: Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background History, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance); Verification of educational credentials.
