As a growing company, we are always looking for new team members to help us continue in our success. Currently, we are seeking a Computer Room Operator 2nd shift. The successful candidate will assist with monitoring and controlling electronic computer and peripheral electronic data processing equipment to process business and other data according to operating instructions. In addition, the Computer Room Operator will monitor and respond to operating and error messages and may enter commands at a computer terminal and set controls on computer and peripheral devices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Activates job processing through online terminal, transmittal sheets, or online mainframe master console.
- Continuously observes the operation of the console, storage devices, printers, and other peripheral devices to monitor the system and determine the point of equipment or program failure.
- Manipulates controls in accordance with standard procedures to rearrange the sequence of job steps to continue operations when individual units of the system malfunction.
- Confers with the proper personnel in the event that circumstances require a change of instructions or sequence of operations.
- Visually aligns forms to be printed.
- Visually edits exception reports.

Delivers reports as required.

Replenishes operating material supplies as needed.

Cleans machinery and work area as required.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. along with one year of computer coursework.
- One year of computer operations experience.
- Strong knowledge of IBM mainframe and AS400 system consoles.
- Ability to monitor and detect problems in computer room and call appropriate support person.

Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Knowledge of computer operation concepts and techniques.

Ability to comprehend technical language of operating instructions and equipment manuals.

Ability to clearly explain operating problems and difficulties.

Ability to prepare operating records, time computer runs, and to adhere to a fixed operating schedule.

Ability to work with limited supervision

Ability to plan, organize, and schedule activities associated with production runs to maximize efficiency in operations.

Good interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of computer operations, programming, and computer hardware and software.

Ability to respond quickly and effectively to uncertainty and constant changes in technology.
