Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking a Construction Project Manager (Southeast Louisiana) . The Construction Project Manager will plan and coordinate the execution of Rebuild programs in Southeast Louisiana, by leveraging subcontractors as well as TR staff and volunteers. This will require excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate across functional teams, strong organizational skills to track multiple simultaneous projects and the technical skills to comfortably use the tools and software utilized by Rebuild. In addition to driving construction planning across multiple projects, this role will require knowledge of local level long term recovery organizations and how TR can integrate, as well as a forward-thinking problem-solving approach to planning.

Every day will be a challenge, but every month brings new opportunities for an organization that is quickly becoming a household name in disaster response. This position reports to the Manager, Rebuild Operations, and is based out of Southeast Louisiana.

Duties:

  • Plan and oversee all activities related to achieving building production goals including producing scopes of work, schedules, cost estimates, reviewing plans, acquiring materials, hiring subcontractors, and coordinating staff and volunteer resources and performing construction related tasks as necessary
  • Manage project costs to include budgeted v. actual, monitoring for trends and proposing solutions to refine
  • Effectively schedule and coordinate subcontractors, staff, and volunteers
  • Oversee construction document creation, solicitation of bids for building materials and services, and drive selection of vendors and subcontractors

Experience and Background:

  • 2-3 years' experience in either project management or business operations, with special consideration given to experience in residential construction
  • 1-3 years of experience in relationship management, preferably with local government, community organizations, and non-profits
  • Experience with and working knowledge of residential construction and have demonstrated ability to perform construction related tasks
  • Working knowledge of Critical Path Scheduling methods
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with local level community recovery efforts a plus, ex. LTRG or VOAD experience
  • Demonstrated success in working in matrix managed environments, e.g., building trust, communicating early and often, managing expectations, figuring out how to make the best of situations with multiple parties involved

Special Requirements:

  • This is a full-time position based in Southeast Louisiana
  • Evening and weekend availability supporting leadership meetings, video conferences, events, and operations
  • Local Travel: Reliable transportation is required. The person filling this position will be expected to travel within their local area to support ongoing efforts
  • Non-Local Travel: Up to 20% travel across multiple geographic locations spanning all 50 states.

Pay Range:

  • $45,000 - $60,000 per year
