POSITION SUMMARY: Lead overall Controls Engineering & Robotic Integration Strategy and oversee the deployment. Perform and/or assist in the design, build and approval of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic controls. Program and Troubleshoot Fanuc and ABB robotic controls. Also, assist in the preparation of control standards and technical manuals. Able to work in high volume CNC & Aluminum Foundry manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct research and development activities associated with design and testing of control circuits, power requirements, programmable controls, and hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems.
  • Assist operations as required in determining conditions for testing or evaluating existing difficulties associated with control circuits, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and help determine course of correction and implement correction.
  • Contact vendors to specify control equipment necessary to maintain machine operation or development of machinery.
  • Assist in training plant personnel regarding technical subjects related to the use and set-up of new/rebuild processes/of machinery, as well as, use of programmable controllers and other control equipment according to specifications.
  • Coordinate company personnel and external individuals to design, develop and install equipment according to specifications.
  • Develop and maintain company controls specifications.
  • Work with manufacturing engineers on bid specification packages as required. Create bid packages for controls only builds.
  • Participate in the approval of controls design & build of all equipment used.
  • Ensure that all controls systems meet all safety protocols as applicable.
  • Participate in all equipment run-offs as required with engineering review.
  • Perform other duties as required by direct manager.
  • Support Projects in multiple locations as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Supervisory responsibilities required may include other controls engineers or technicians. This is a collaborative role that will require interface with all other controls engineers or technicians based at other Mobex Locations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Fast paced environment with some supervision. Must work with a high degree of accuracy and requires use of good judgment and professionalism. Must be able to work and interact appropriately with all levels of the organization. Will work often on manufacturing floor where environment is loud. Some time will be spent in office environment. While on the manufacturing floor person is regularly exposed to moving machinery parts, vibration, wet conditions. Noise level in this environment is loud and PPE is required. Job will be based in Edon Ohio.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This job operates in a professional office environment and on the manufacturing floor. While on the manufacturing floor person will regularly stand, use hands to touch and feel, reach with arms; occasionally may lift/move up to 25 lbs., stoop or bend.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time, exempt position. General days and hours of work are Monday through Friday and core hours of work are between 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a professional level position that allows for flexibility in scheduling to support operational needs. It is anticipated that some non-core work scheduling will exist to ensure completion of essential functions.

TRAVEL:

Travel to Mobex Plants, suppliers or vendors may be required. Approx. 15% of time

RequirementsPRIMARY COMPETENCIES:

1. Bachelors degree in electrical controls or equivalent work experience.

2. Knowledge of electronics, mechanical equipment, hydraulics and pneumatics.

3. Knowledge in CNC controls, mechanics and machine functions.

4. High level of expertise with Fanuc and ABB robotic programming and troubleshooting

5. Excellent problem-solving skills

6. Skilled in delegating responsibilities and ability to communicate effective in oral and written form.

7. Plan, organize and implement multiple concurrent tasks and projects.

8. Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills.

9. Knowledge of PLCs – Fanuc, Siemens.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $90,000.00 per year
