Eaton’s Electrical Sector (Crouse Hinds, B-Line and Oil & Gas business) is currently seeking a 2nd Shift Core Setup Operator to join our team. This position is based at our Amarillo, TX facility.

Position Overview:

This position requires ability to perform functions and duties in the Foundry related to setting up Core Machines in our facility which includes removing and installing equipment in the machines, adjust, and maintain production quality to perform close tolerance of cores used in our Molding operations

This position is accountable for managing the full life cycle of products within the harsh & hazardous/industrial wire management and PD&C product families.

In this function you will:

  • Visually inspect and finished Cores to ensure that they meet needs of our Mold production equipment.
  • Perform a variety of duties to adjust setting and placement of machine equipment to ensure finished product meets requirements.
  • Operate equipment within standards to meet output requirements and goals of our facility.
  • Perform Quality Functions in the Core Department
  • Place core in appropriate containers to prevent product mixing and ensure they are labeled and stacked according to work data sheets
  • Recognize and notify supervision of mechanical malfunctions and operating irregularities.
  • Assure all products meet Eaton Crouse-Hinds standards
  • Perform material handling duties as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned throughout the facility
  • Follow basic schedules to meet product flow through the facility.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner and apply 5-S program

Qualifications - Internal

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Amarillo, TX will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience setting up and using CNC controls to adjust parameters
  • Prior experience in an industrial setting
  • Understanding of material movement
  • Proven ability to run a machine with multiple settings or specifications
  • Background in operation and set up of machines and equipment

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to use basic hand tools to install and remove machine components
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with all employees throughout plant
  • Employee must be able to work in a heavy industrial environment with large manufacturing equipment for 10 hour days
  • Ability to follow all safety regulations associated including, lock out – tag out procedures, Confined Space training, ability to train and be certified in Powered Industrial Trucks, ability to wear a respirator, ability to wear Fall Protection as well as standard PPE throughout the facility
  • Requires frequent bending and reaching
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for 8-12 hours, to physically climb on machines and ladders, and to lift 50 pounds
  • Understanding and ability to be able to use precision gauging instruments and apply basic math skills, including correctly measuring with precision tools to .001” using calipers and micrometers and adjust equipment settings as required.
  • This position requires the employee to be alert for risks while performing repetitive work, stay alert and communicate with material handlers regularly
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow basic mechanical drawings in addition to moderately technical standards and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to work in an area with sand and dust
  • Ability to work around molten metal and in a production environment that is at times very hot or very cold, and subject to unexpected swings of overtime (ability to flex personal schedule to cover tasks on other shifts)
  • Ability to work proactively and communicate effectively while working with all employees throughout plant
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions: eSafety, MESH Prism
