Position Overview: Our Magnet Hospital offers a full spectrum of radiologic procedures, using state-of-the-art digital imaging equipment. But it takes more than state-of-the-art equipment to provide a truly superior service. It demands a staff of competent, caring board-certified Technologists, whose primary concerns are the needs of the patient. Bring your passion and professionalism to the experienced and caring team counts on for the highest quality clinical images.

Use your expertise to assist with the diagnosis of rare and complex cases. Expand your knowledge alongside the most highly respected professionals in the field. In this role, you will operate equipment and apply your knowledge of Radiology Information Systems, PACSs, and digital data transfer processes, under the direction of a radiologist and the supervision of a department supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Able to apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology in obtaining adequate diagnostic exams.
  • Demonstrates competency in the age specific standards as defined for the department/unit.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to medical emergencies, has developed skills to practice in a safe clinical environment, knowledgeable CT safety and protection, has developed skills in contrast administration.
  • Prepares all imaging exams for reading to include correct demographic identification and assures that diagnosis matches procedure for correct billing. Evaluates digital imaging for quality and accuracy before releasing the patient.
  • Checks patients’ identification questions the patient to obtain a clinical history or pre-existing condition.
  • Always questions female patients regarding pregnancy.
  • CT Technologist documents all relevant information in synapse notes.
  • Keep the department running proficiently, regularly checking equipment, accessories, and supplies.
  • Keeps area always stocked, cleans, and disinfects equipment after each use; daily cleans exam room.
  • Applies appropriate measures to minimize radiation exposure to self, patients, employees, and others. Utilizes and abides by image gently and image wisely standards.
  • Efficiently and effectively provides procedure support for a variety of patient procedures, such as CT Guided Interventional Procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate licensure, registration, and continuing education requirements.
  • Knowledge and function of Tele-radiography Systems
  • Responsible for all electronic documentation

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduated from a formal radiography or equivalent training program as specified by The American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists
  • Licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Health as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed as well as on-call duty when applicable.
  • Displays a good understanding of age-related developmental issues
  • Maintains CPR Certification and Advanced Certification in Bone Density
