Summary:
The Terminal Baggage-Janitor is responsible for performing both baggage and janitorial duties during their assigned shift. Expectations of the position are to perform these functions in accordance with company standards to accomplish the Company objective of being the lowest cost and best provider of ground transportation by ensuring passenger luggage is loaded and unloaded in a timely, accurate and safe manner and our facilities are clean and sanitary for our passengers.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and accurately loads baggage prior to and during passenger loading in such a manner that maximizes space and prevents damage to baggage.
• Timely moves unclaimed baggage to claim/sorting areas to ensure prompt sorting and loading on waiting departures
• Accurately identify and release baggage to the passenger with the matching claim check
• Maintain baggage sorting areas (cleanliness and sorting accuracy)
• Directs customers to appropriate areas of the terminal to obtain desired services
• Directs passengers to correct loading gates or areas for departures and connections.
• Checks station area, baggage, and express area frequently for stray and/or lost and found items and processes promptly
• Responsible for the cleaning and general maintenance of the terminal to ensure clean a clean and sanitary environment for customers and employees
• Follows posted janitorial cleaning schedule, posted instructions on the use of various detergents and tools to be used to clean specific areas. Some tools are mechanical.
• Cleans outside terminal grounds as requested (i.e., pulls weeds, maintains grassy areas od sidewalks and parking lots).
• Cleans spills promptly
• Ability to handle packages/bags weighing up to 100 lbs
• Ability to work in an outside environment during all seasonal periods
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends

Physical Requirements

Must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment; access filing system/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone. Normal physical activity can be strenuous and may involve prolonged standing, walking, reaching, bending, and crouching. The employee must occasionally push, pull, and/or lift objects up to 50 pounds. Work requires spatial perception and finger and manual dexterity.

Working Conditions
This job is exposed daily to temperatures and the handling of chemicals and cleaning agents. Work takes place both inside and outside the facility in both environments protected and non-protected from weather.
