Deputy Auditor – Real Estate
Duties:
Specific duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Providing a high level of customer service to taxpayers, property owners, other County departments, and all other individuals and businesses requiring the services of the County Auditor’s Office
- Property transfers for Real Property and Manufactured Homes, both in person and by mail
- Answering customer questions regarding property values, ownership, etc., researching as necessary to provide an accurate answer
- Routing of new surveys between various County departments
- Calculation, collection, deposit, and reconciliation of various statutory fees
- Working closely with the County’s contracted appraisal firm to ensure fair and accurate valuation of Real Property and Manufactured Homes
- Value change data entry and verification, with a focus on precision and accuracy
- Addition or Remission of tax charges as necessary throughout the year
- Special Assessment data entry and maintenance
- Administration of Property Tax Exemption applications and approvals
- Administration of Homestead Program, including initial and continuing applications
- Administration of Current Agricultural Use Valuation (CAUV) Program, including initial and renewal applications
- Board of Revision administration, including accepting complaint forms during the required statutory time period and advising customers of the complaint process
- Annual preparation of the Value Abstract and submission to the Department of Taxation within the required time frame
- Various internal and external reporting, with a review of all reports for accuracy prior to submission
- Ensuring that all internal and external communications, both verbal and written, project a professional image
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Employee will be fully trained upon hire; however, basic qualifications for the position are as follows:
Required:
- Minimum High School or Equivalent Education
- Computer Literacy
- Punctuality and Dependability
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
