Notice of Civil Service Examinationto be given for the Position ofDEPUTY SHERIFF Notice is hereby given that the Civil Service Commission of Pottawattamie County, Iowa will conduct written and physical examinations for the position of DEPUTY SHERIFF at Iowa Western Community College, 2700 College Rd. Council Bluffs, IA, 51503.The Civil Service test will be held on October 15, 2022.Registration will begin at 8:00AM on October 15, 2022. The written exam will begin promptly at 8:30AM on October 15, 2022.Those individuals passing the written examination will immediately be given the physical agility test that day. Therefore, should bring, or wear appropriate clothing.Each applicant must be at least 21 years of age, a citizen of the United States who can read and write the English language, and must meet the minimum requirements of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy for law enforcement officers.Those interested must apply online first, in order to be eligible for the written and physical exam. Once you have completed an online application, additional information will come to you through email correspondence. **We will be accepting applications until 11:59P.M. on September 30, 2022!**

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Graduation from an accredited high school or successful completion of the high school GED test.Must obtain certification as required by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy within twelve months of the date of hire.Applicants must successfully pass the written exam and physical agility test to be placed on the eligibility list. If you are a veteran and qualify for veteran's preference points, you will be required to bring a copy of your DD-214 or your active duty military identification card with you to the written examination.
