Design Engineer

Position Type/Hours:

Full-time position. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Position Profile:

This position is responsible for the design and development of new machine solutions and modifications for existing products.

Essential Functions:

• Research, design and create concept drawings for quotation for quick turnaround
• Research and specify purchased components for initial concept and pricing
• Present designs and perform demonstrations of product prototypes for the approval of clients
• Evaluate the function, safety and appearance of products to ensure they have a practical design
• Participate on teams for customer contact and problem resolution during the quotation and throughout the manufacturing process
• Develop and deliver sales presentations as needed
• Attend trade shows and visit future clients with sales staff as requested
• Build relationships with key third party vendors

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Previous, relevant work experience
• Proficiency in using CAD design software
• Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively
• Familiar with a variety of manufacturing and engineering’s concepts, practices, and procedures
• Up-to-date understanding of industry standards and technical developments
