Boyd Bros. Transportation Inc., headquartered in Clayton, Alabama, is a flatbed truckload carrier that operates throughout the eastern two-thirds of the United States, hauling primarily steel products and building materials. In these markets, Boyd Bros. serves high-volume, time-sensitive shippers that demand time-definite delivery.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Diesel Technician at the Birmingham, AL terminal location.

Essential Job Functions

· Performs repairs and preventative maintenance checks and services in accordance with company policies and procedures.

· Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, air and hydraulic systems.

· Prepares tractor/trailers and assigned equipment for operation.

· Performs preventative maintenance on tools, repair parts, equipment and assigned vehicles.

· Knows and applies required company safety procedures.

· Completes applicable maintenance forms and records.

· Completion of other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designated authority

Physical and other requirements:

1. Must be able to read detailed technical manuals.

2. Able to lift 80-100 pounds and carry 20 feet.

3. Able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or lay prone for sustained work periods.
