Summary:

The Dining Room Supervisor will interview, hire, manage, train and discipline wait staff. He/she will ensure cleanliness of dining room and proper kitchen sanitation in the kitchen are in addition to scheduling and Kronos. The Dining Room Supervisor will act as a liaison and communicator between departments, is the organizer of day-to-day operations and events, educates and sets standards for on stage/off stage performance. He/she will work directly with wait staff as hostess figure in the dining room, supervise nightly closing of kitchen and dining rooms, and ensures consistent optimal quality of service across the SLC campus. This person will also evaluate and complete performance evaluations for wait staff.
Experience/Education Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Waiter/Waitress experience required.
  • Prior management experience in a food service industry required.

License or Certification Requirements:

  • CPR certification preferred depending on staffing needs.
  • Training on Heimlich maneuver preferred.
  • Food service sanitation certificate required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily meal tracking and inputting into Excel program.
  • Assist manager campus wide in all supervisory roles including closing duties for both kitchen and dining rooms.
  • Assist manager with liquor inventory and ordering as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with marketing/activities to be updated on events and attendance.
  • Dining room supervisor will act as a liaison and communicator between departments.
  • Educates and sets standards for on/off stage performance.
  • Act as a role model for on stage/off stage behaviors.
  • Follow the proper steps for cleanliness.
  • He/she will ensure cleanliness of dining room and proper kitchen sanitation.
  • Keep inventory and storage control on all equpment for events.
  • Keeps accurate records of attendance and products used for billing of events.
  • Knowledgeable in fine dining service and steps of service and the ability to follow those steps.
  • Lead and assist manager in development and training of dietary staff.
  • Manages staff at events.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Responsible for assessing equpment needs at events.
  • Responsible for coordinating all aspects of dietary department for activity and/or marketing events.
  • Schedule will vary depending on needs for closing duties or morning/evening events.
  • Serves resident guests in a professional timely manner.
  • Supervise nightly and weekend closing of kitchen and dining rooms to specific county health department and IDPH regulations.
  • Ensure consistent optimal quality of service across the SLC campus as needed and scheduled by manager.
  • Supervise, train and discipline, interview, hire, manage wait staff, evaluate and complete performance evaluations for wait staff, scheduling and Kronos.
