Manticore is looking for an experienced Engineering Leader with strong technical skills and the ability to mentor and lead a high-performing organization of outstanding engineers and engineering managers. You’ll lead and facilitate effective communication across multiple disciplines, influence technical decision making, and drive prioritization and execution for the team. You and your team will be responsible to build and extend the platform that supports the Core Metaverse, while ensuring its stability and performance. The platform is critical to Manticore’s success and includes all data persistence, server and network infrastructure, blockchain integration and ecommerce. This role reports directly to the VP of Engineering. Our headquarters are located in San Mateo, CA but this role can be fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Build, manage and support an outstanding engineering team of software engineers and engineering managers providing both technical and organizational leadership
• Be an active partner in the recruiting process to help attract and identify top talent and develop an effective interview team
• Establish effective, new strategies while improving on existing processes
• Ensure the stability and performance of the server infrastructure that runs the Core Metaverse, while meeting the increasing needs of our user base
• Collaborate with the production team to make estimates and set schedules
• Work with product managers to refine feature specifications
• Participate in due diligence and selection of potential technical partners, libraries, and other technologies and tools
• Write code, participate in architecture design, and contribute to code reviews for our C# backend and kubernetes based infrastructure

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience
• 5+ years of management experience
• 3+ years of experience operating a live service
• Familiarity with C# and ASP.NET Core
• Professional experience building on cloud providers such as Azure, GCP or AWS
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
• Interest or familiarity with games - console, mobile, PC, etc.
• Interest and/or experience with blockchain technology
• Excellent communication skills

Pluses

• Web development experience, including React
• Game development or related industry experience
• Management experience with fully remote teams
• Experience with any number of the following technologies: Jenkins, Git, Perforce, Powershell, Unreal Engine, Microsoft Orleans, Splunk, Datadog
• Interest and/or experience with blockchain technology
• Mobile experience
