Summary:
Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is adding a Director of Mission Integration and Spiritual Care to our St John’s Hospital leadership team. This Director role is based in Springfield, IL. This servant leader will focus on ensuring spiritual care and mission integration design, development, implementation and evaluation of programs and activities advance the HSHS mission and embody the values of Catholic healthcare.
The Director of Mission Integration and Spiritual Care reports directly to the HSHS System VP Mission Integration and is a collaborative leader comfortable managing within a matrix environment. The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record in leading and developing mission leadership and spiritual care within a Catholic healthcare system. HSHS is a Catholic non-profit healthcare system, and this position is required to be filled by a Catholic in Good Standing.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Master’s in Theology or Mission Leadership required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within spiritual care, clinical ethics, or mission leadership within hospital or clinical environment, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in leadership role.
  • Catholic in Good Standing requirement
  • Completion of minimum of 4 units Clinical Pastoral Education at an Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) Accredited Center is required
  • Certification with National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), Association of Professional Chaplains (APC)

Qualifications:
Education Qualifications:
Master's degree in theology, scripture, spirituality, ethics, or related field is required.
Minimum of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education at an Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) Accredited Center is required.

Experience Qualifications:
3 years of leadership experience is required.
A practicing Catholic in good standing with 5 years' experience working in Catholic healthcare, mission, spiritual care related experience is required.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:
Certification with National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) is required.
