About the Position

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Operations he/she is responsible for the site’s management of production resources and successful execution of projects. Works with General Manager to achieve low aircraft damage ratios, high project efficiency, on-time deliveries, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure company environmental, health and safety policies are upheld.
  • Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance of the FAA repair station certificate and repair station manual.
  • Ensure processes are in place to protect customer assets and avoid accidental damage
  • Direct production resources to complete aircraft projects in line with safety, quality and TAT requirements.
  • Communicate with customers to provide timely and accurate reports and ensure all customer concerns are addressed.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure project plans and manpower schedules are consistently managed and optimized on a daily basis to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Manage and monitor operational budgets, with particular focus on controlling direct and indirect costs to meet monthly P+L budgets
  • Schedule resources as needed to best meet the operational requirements
  • Ensure sufficient planning and preparation is executed for all projects.
  • Lead the site in developing and maintaining world class production standards, in particular with regard to 5S standards, housekeeping and safety.
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure processes are consistently adhered to, and improved, in order to delivering world-class quality standards.
  • Act as focal point and link with support departments to ensure all production needs are addressed (HR/Materials/Facilities/Quality)
  • Partner with quality department to provide active management of AS9100 quality system..
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure processes for preventative maintenance of the hangar and equipment are in place.
  • Constantly drive employee development and training to ensure required skillset is readily available and fluctuations in workload can be met.
  • Engage with all employees to promote a positive working environment and maintain a highly skilled and motivated work force.
  • Support HR in all areas functional areas of people development, including activities to recruit, hire, develop, promote and maintain a highly skilled and motivated work force.
  • Encourage positive, supportive and respectful working environment, and lead initiatives to reduce employee attrition.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Aviation Management preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in an aviation environment.
  • Production/operations experience in aviation or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills; interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to deal with internal and external clients and senior executive.
  • Strong problem solving and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment.
  • Proven leader who can manage a team, set goals, develop individuals and drive accountability across all departments.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel and Project.
  • Professional Training: A/P Certification a plus.
