Job Summary:
Unbound Now BCS is a growing office with growing operational demands. The Director of Operations will ensure the implementation and execution of office vision and strategic plans, and leadership within the office in partnership with the Executive Director. This person will lead out all local office operations, serve as the liaison with HQ on grant management, and oversee office finances and annual budget.

Schedule/Availability:
Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends for events.


Travel:
This position may require limited travel for training and team/professional development opportunities.


Working conditions:
Work performed in a normal office environment or other professional environment. Work duties may on rare occasions be performed in an environment requiring exposure to weather extremes, fumes, odors and noise.


Job Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Support Executive Director in implementation and execution of strategic plan
  • Support Executive Director in ensuring office health and development in terms of overall operations
  • Provide programmatic support as needed
  • In coordination with the Executive Director, assist in the hiring process for all non- advocacy related staff
  • Provide office guidance and leadership for staff in the Executive Director’s absence.

Finances

  • In coordination with HQ, prepare annual budget and guide it through the review process including clearly tracking of income and expenses, grant funds, and progress towards budget
  • Report in kind donations to HQ
  • In coordination with the Executive Director, coordinate with other offices and HQ on government grant applications and reports
  • Assist with local fundraising events as needed, under the direction of the regional development director
  • Manage bank account as it relates to internal operations and overall budget in coordination with HQ

Government Grant Managment

  • Serve as liaison to Unbound Now Grant Manager for time and activity reports, effort certifications, budget adjustment needs, and reimbursable expense documentation
  • Support Grant Manager in responding to programmatic desk reviews and audits
  • Ensure local compliance with grant requirements
  • Weigh in on grant applications as they relate to budget and operations

Communications

  • In coordination with Unbound Now Director of Communications and Chief Development Director, design and create multi-media marketing materials for programs related to fundraising and overall operations
  • Manage social media platforms, newsletter, and other forms of office correspondence in coordination with Unbound Now Director of Communication.
  • Develop local communication plan and materials including for fundraising campaigns and events in coordination with regional development director and Unbound Now Director of Communications
  • Back-up media liaison at the direction of the Executive Director

Other

  • Attend and participate in Unbound Now operations calls /meetings with other Unbound Now offices
  • Attend Unbound Now BCS staff and Director meetings
  • Ensure Unbound Now BCS is in sync with Unbound Now HQ and other Unbound Now offices
  • Assist Executive Director with Staff Development
  • Help steward and lead the office in partnership with the Executive Director.

Working Relationships:

Supervisor: Executive Director

Works with: Director of Programs

Supervises: Administrative Coordinator and Task Force Coordinator


QUALIFICATIONS


Experience and Education:

  • Demonstrated ability to work in high-speed, professional setting
  • Minimum 1 year in an administrative role, preferably in a nonprofit
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferred

Job Requirements:

  • Three references, (supervisor, professional, personal)
  • Agree to and pass all required criminal background checks, including DFPS criminal history check and abuse and neglect registry check
  • Pass employment eligibility verification
  • Complete Unbound Now’s foundations course
  • Fulfill Unbound Now’s annual and ongoing abuse prevention training requirements
  • Willingness to use personal vehicle for work travel; valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, current car insurance
