JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of the Center for Racial and Gender Equity is a position designed to build community power to achieve our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. The Director oversees the coordination and administration of our work to listen, learn and lead within the Lancaster and Central Pennsylvania region.
Salary range: $52,000-$58,000 and comprehensive benefits package
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director performs a wide range of duties including some or all the following to continue building community that embraces racial equity and gender equality.
· Build relationships with individuals and community partners to consistently promote more equitable and inclusive spaces for all.
· Advocate for progressive and positive change in the local and regional community and the fair and equal treatment of all people according to YWCA Lancaster Public Policy Statements.
· Specifically work among youth networks to empower the next generation of social justice leaders.
· Develop and gather comprehensive learning resources for community and internal use to further our mission.
· Identify funding sources and work with the grant manager to continue building sustainable revenue streams
· Collaborate with other staff to promote, deliver, and improve our educational offerings to meet community and business needs.
· Evaluate internal systems to support agency leaders, staff, volunteers, and Board to fully realize our mission across all activities.
· Lead on the established Center programs listed below:
o Dorothy Height Social Justice Club-Join our insightful club with a focus on diverse, thought-provoking writers and subjects.
o Community Now-a discussion series about urgent, mission-related topics that are relevant to our community
o Listen, Learn, and Lead- a mission-focused educational session that includes a call to action
o Black Artist Waystation- A yearly opportunity for local Black artists to improve their craft and gain exposure in the community
o Reclaiming our Time- A BIPOC only space to focus on the internal work of continuous healing in a white supremacist society.
o Detoxing Masculinity- A meetup for any male-presenting people to unpack and take action against patriarchy
o Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration-a community celebration with a focus on children. Local leaders read books to children and every child receives an age-appropriate book to take home.
o Race Against Racism- YWCA Lancaster hosts the longest consecutive-running Race Against Racism in the United States. Held the last Saturday in April, the race has broad corporate sponsorship and over 3000 participants. This is a fundraiser that supports the Center.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Bilingual is a plus
· Ability and desire to continuously improve personally and the team
· Demonstrated track record of community engagement in the field of racial equity, diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
· Demonstrated skill as an educator, trainer or speaker including experience developing curriculum-based trainings and workshops.
· Experience with making data-informed decisions to evaluate and improve programming
· Strong cloud-based application experience and ability to express orally and in writing the work of the Center for Racial and Gender Equity
· Fluency with the concepts of liberation, structural racism, intersectionality, implicit bias and trauma-informed education
· A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required. A Master's Degree and/or specialized training in race and gender studies is preferred.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
