In turnaround and performance improvement situations, we help company management stabilize finances and operations to reassure all parties-in-interest that proactive steps are being taken to enhance value. We develop financial projections and liquidity forecasts, improve cash flow management, obtain additional financing, negotiate loan covenant waivers and guide complex debt and operational restructuring. For insolvency and managed wind-down projects, we work with all parties to maximize the recoveries and manage the orderly dissolution/liquidation of the entity. In addition to providing company-side services, we also provide analytical and advisory services to lenders and unsecured creditors of distressed borrowers. Outside of restructuring situations, we represent buyers, sellers or lenders involved in contemplated mergers and acquisitions, and hands-on support in evaluating opportunities across the risk/return spectrum.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with a diverse set of colleagues to serve clients facing challenges
  • Lead teams to drive corporate recovery, restructuring, exit strategies, non-performing or distressed investments, and insolvency. Responsible for hands on management of project teams, including directing other team members, and managing outside professionals involved in the engagement and client personnel
  • Apply project management skills to ensure projects are scoped properly, appropriate priorities are established, implementation plans are developed and executed, and projects meet client expectations
  • Analyze client business plans, debt capacity, competitive positioning and strategy, key-contracts and relationships, and regulatory considerations
  • Develop turnaround strategies with contingencies to assist with client initiatives and identify/evaluate potential restructuring/financing alternatives
  • Apply operational business experience along with accounting, finance, and analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines including, but not limited to, asset identification and monetization, creditor negotiation and settlement, financial modeling, financial statements and projections assessments, business plan evaluations, and project management
  • Advise and support clients in the design and implementation of solutions, including business and financial turnarounds
  • Oversee liquidation and valuation analysis
  • Drive development of integrated financial modeling/projections, cash flow forecasts, business plans, financial models, and other support as needed
  • Perform financial reviews and provide implementation services for liquidations, bankruptcy and receiverships
  • Proactively lead in business development efforts by instigating and managing marketing activity
  • Establish personal credibility, increases client satisfaction, manages client expectations, develops relationships with key decision makers, all while maintaining a professional image
  • Prepare reports, written analyses, presentations, quantitative exhibits, and other client deliverables regarding project scope and/or results of work performed
  • Work effectively with various outside parties including management, principals, and advisors (investment banks, law firms, etc.) to advance client goals
  • Draft reports for partner review and report findings to clients in a timely manner

ADDITONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Practice Development
    • Oversee and execute on A+ client delivery; Execute services and deliverables around financial, operational and business challenges
  • Lead, mentor and professionally develop team members, actively participating in the career advisory and performance review process. Provide knowledgeable guidance and direction to associates in the development of intricate financial models and other analyses
    • Build team culture and environment for scaling a hyper-growth consulting business
    • Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of policies, procedures and services of the practice area
    • Ensure team compliance with Armanino ethical, confidentiality and work policies and quality/performance standards
    • Present and educate team on key developments, standards, trends etc., in restructuring
    • Counsel subordinates and review and evaluate their performance
  • Business Development
    • Cultivate relationships with outside professionals and investors that deal with business challenges and collaborate with other consulting groups and departments on service opportunities Leverage these relationships built to generate new projects and leads
  • Lead major client pursuits including proposal preparation and client presentations
    • Support the business development team with client delivery or sector specific expertise
    • Act as a thought leader in the market and foster culture of growth
    • Stay abreast of general business/economic developments and new standards; gain an in-depth understanding of their linkage to the client’s business to identify new business opportunities
    • Publish thought leadership materials, actively participate in industry meetings and conferences to increase Armanino brand awareness
  • A+ Execution
    • Provide high-quality consulting services by taking personal ownership for delivering client engagements that are fact-driven, solution oriented and meet Armanino’s A+ Execution standard for quality
    • Supervise the execution of teams
    • Provide senior project leadership and manage client needs

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field of study
  • 10 years-experience in the restructuring industry plus client-side experience
  • In-depth understanding of financial or independent business reviews, corporate recovery, restructuring, debt advisory, turnaround, workout, sell side advisory and distressed asset disposal; and/or insolvency, exit strategy, liquidation, receivership and bankruptcy services
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with a strong attention to detail; projects typically include work onsite at client locations
  • Ability to interface with, and lead team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations
  • Flexibility with respect to assigned tasks and engagements due to challenging deadlines, changing deliverables, and evolving task priorities
  • Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and motivation to succeed
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance and expertise within the field of restructuring
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work a demanding schedule in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Superior interpersonal, communication, marketing, sales and organizational skills
  • Ability to make effective decisions by analyzing information and considering priorities
  • Demonstrated experience managing of day-to-day aspects of client relationships and projects
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), mathematical, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with PC environment and related software, including Microsoft Office applications
