POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Safety, reporting to the SVP Safety & Compliance, leads a dynamic team of program safety and compliance program leaders while directing, developing, and overseeing Unifi’s health and safety policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include management of Gensuite, the backbone of Unifi’s safety management system for tracking, analysis, and trending of company safety & quality related data. This individual must thrive under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires much attention to detail, creativity, and consistency.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITILES
- Build relationships with stakeholders across key internal teams, stakeholder teams and external partners.
- Closely monitor regulatory changes and provide guidance to the organization to ensure regulatory compliance
- Develop, implement, and govern key metric reporting for the portfolio of safety programs, providing visibility to the milestones and performance
- Conduct ad-hoc data trending and analysis to develop solutions for implementation
- Lead corporate safety and compliance communication initiatives
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or related field is required. Six (6) years of relevant work experience required, in addition to strong leadership skills and track record of executing.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and influence people across all functional areas
- Outstanding facilitator and communicator; lead innovation by teaching, consensus-building, and project execution
- Solid decision-maker with excellent analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and be self-starting on tasks within area of expertise
- Strong technical and business writing skills with experience documenting standards and procedures
- Proficient and experienced user of Office 365 apps/programs (Word, Power Point, SharePoint, Sway), including managing and manipulating data using Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Advanced degree / Master’s Degree
- Experience in airline/aviation-specific operations with creating, implementing, and improving region/division/company-wide safety programs and compliance
- Experience with creating data visualization and analysis using software (Power BI / Tableau)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job the employee works indoors in a semi-private office, while performing multiple tasks under tight time constraints. During field visits the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions including rain, snow, sun and extreme cold and extreme heat and moving mechanical parts such as propellers and jet fans and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May work various hours, nights, weekends and holidays. Up to 50% travel may be required.
